Deadly hit and run in Davidson County. Troopers say a man and woman were struck and killed while on foot in the southbound lane of Highway 52 near exit 92 just after 2am this morning. The couple, in an apparent ‘domestic dispute’ had abandoned a minivan with the doors open in the northbound lane of Hwy 52 just south of Welcome. The identity of the victims who were not from Davidson County has not been released. “Layaway angels’ lurking in the Triad? About a dozen individuals separately paying down the layaway balances at the Kmart store on Bridford Parkway in Greensboro. The individuals anonymously came into the store and wanted to make payments on layaways that contained toys and clothes for children for Christmas. Bi-Lo is buying Winn-Dixie for $560 million dollars creating one of the largest privately held grocery store chains in the South.
