A statewide tornado drill is planned for Wednesday morning at 9:30am. Schools and government buildings across the state will be participating.

Twenty-two (22) area High School and amateur baseball teams will have the opportunity to play at BB&T Ballpark, the home of the Winston-Salem Dash starting today through the end of April.    (MAR 06)Today:  Forsyth Country Day vs Carver at 6:30pm. The games are FREE and open to the public.    BTW:  Each school or organization has purchased a specified number of tickets to this season’s Dash games that they can re-sell as a fundraiser.

Even in the face of a lawsuit from the ACLU, Commissioner Jon Barber opened the Rowan County commissioners meeting last night with a prayer…in the name of Jesus.  The ACLU had given commissioners a Monday deadline to respond to their request to stop using the name of a specific deity (including Jesus Christ) during prayers at public meetings. Today is Super Tuesday, where 10 states are either having primaries or caucuses.  Over 400 delegate votes are up for grabs today.  GOP presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum are in a tight battle in Ohio.   BTW: A candidate needs roughly 1,144 delegates to get the Republican nomination.   RnR

 The King CityCouncil voted last night to cancel the purchase of two new police cars.  Just a month the King City Council voted to discuss the possibility of having the County take over police protection duties. The state’s largest gathering of homeschoolers happens at the end of May.
