More than 100 evangelical Christian leaders and organizations including Focus on the Family are addressing ‘Immigration Reform’, by signing onto a new statement of principles created by The National Association of Evangelicals.    The document calls for a bipartisan solution on immigration that respects the God-given dignity of every person; protects the unity of the immediate family, respects the rule of law and guarantees secure national borders.  Citizen Link
Scientists have determined that we have 10,000 different kinds of microbes living in and on our bodies, enough bacteria and fungi, that if collected together, could weigh a few pounds. Don’t freak out just yet.  Many of these organisms work to keep us healthy. In this government study, one surprise: It turns out that nearly all of us harbor low levels of certain harmful types of bacteria that are known to cause specific infections. But when a person is healthy those bugs simply coexist quietly with benign or helpful microbes, perhaps keeping them in check.  Human Microbiome Project      http://apnews.myway.com/article/20120614/D9VCM6DG1.html

Pat McCrory, GOP candidate for Governor, had a Mayberry moment of ‘mistaken identity’ on Tuesday.  After wrapping up a speech at a meeting on Tuesday, a white-haired gentleman with bushy eyebrows came up to greet him. “It’s a real honor sir,” McCrory said, shaking the man’s hand.  McCrory went on to tell how he’d met Andy Griffith 20 years earlier. In return, the man told McCrory that he really liked one of his political ads about how people in the state needed to work together. McCrory thanked him and said maybe they could get together sometime in the future. After McCrory walked away, someone whispered in his ear, that “Griffith” was actually Art “Almost Andy” Fettig, an Andy Griffith impersonator from Hillsborough who had performed at the event before McCrory spoke.  BTW:  Back in 2008, Andy Griffith, a stanch Democrat, made a commercial for Democrat Bev Perdue who was running against McCrory. http://www.news-record.com/content/2012/06/13/article/dont_that_beat_all_mccrory_falls_for_andy_griffith_impersonator
