North Carolina has been known over the years to bring out the best in Wake Forest, and Sunday night the Deacons’ best game was good enough to produce their best victory of the season in the ACC opener for both teams.  Answering a late Tar Heel surge with one of their own, the Deacons stunned the 19th-ranked Tar Heels 73-67 in front of a rollicking crowd of 12,462 at Joel Coliseum.

Carolina will host San Francisco next Sunday for the Panthers’ First Playoff Game since 2008, after the 49ers defeated Green Bay, 23-20 on Sunday… The Divisional Round Playoff Game takes place in the Bank of America Stadium on January 12th at 1:05pm.

Look Up “Rare Air” and you Might just find this week’s weather forecast as some 140 Million People prepare for the Coldest Temperatures in 20 Years!  According to One Meteorologist – “A Piece of a Polar Vortex, the Coldest Air in the Northern Hemisphere… Is Coming!  The “Arctic Blast” will plunge temperatures in Our Area to some 20 to 40 degrees below average for this time of year!

Several Flights To and From North Carolina have been delayed and some even canceled as a result of the winter weather sweeping across the country this week.  As of Monday morning, flights to New York and Chicago from Piedmont Triad International airport, Raleigh-Durham International airport and Charlotte Douglas International airport are all delayed.
