Area Target stores hiring for renovations (NEWS) December 07, 2011

Three Target stores in the Piedmont Triad need some help with renovations starting the day after Christmas.   The full-time positions are mostly during the overnight shift. The Target stores on University Parkway in Winston-Salem, New Garden Road in Greensboro and the Target in Burlington need dozens of extra people to expand the store’s grocery sections.  The renovations will start at these specific stores the day after Christmas.  Once these stores are updated more area stores will be renovated in March.

Updates: The Rev. Billy Graham is back at home after being released from Mission Hospital in Asheville yesterday.  The 93 year old evangelist was admitted to the hospital last Tuesday for treatment of pneumonia. 

State Representative Larry Womble remains in critical, but stable condition at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after surgery yesterday.  Womble was involved in a deadly car crash on Reynolds Park Road in Winston-Salem last Friday night.  David Carmichael, the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident, died at the scene.  (Winston-Salem Journal)

The principal of Brookside Elementary School in Gaston County has turned in his resignation after a 9-year-old boy was suspended for “sexual harassment” calling a teacher ‘cute’.  Jerry Bostic told The Gaston Gazette that he made a mistake but added that he wasn’t given a chance to apologize.  A statement from the system said it was determined that the fourth grader did not engage in any harassment toward his teacher.

A Silver Alert has been issued for an 80 year old man from Winston-Salem.  Van Roger Motsinger was reported missing by his wife yesterday evening after he did not return home from a doctor’s appointment.  Anyone with information should call the Winston Salem Police Department at 336-773-7700.  More details on the News Blog from the N.C.Center for Missing Persons.,000014,000081,001683&mpa=1834

You can help the family of Luke Hampton with medical costs by making donations at any State Employees’ Credit Union.  FYI:  Luke Hampton is a senior at Alleghany High School who suffered a severe neck injury during a wrestling meet last Saturday (Dec 03).  WXII 12 reporting that Luke is currently being treated at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center but will be transported to a Spine and brain Trauma Center in Atlanta for further treatment. Luke was ranked #1 in the state for wrestling just last week. 

Today is the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
