Wondering when the bus is coming may soon be a thing of the past in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. The district is looking to make available a website and smartphone app that not only tracks the district’s nearly 350 buses, but will also allow parents and students to set alerts for when the bus is nearing a particular stop.
The GPS based service is called “Here Comes the Bus” – and could be up and running as soon as the start of the 2016-17 school year. The service will work even when students are put on substitute buses. BTW: More than 38,000 students ride the bus to or from school each day in the WS/FC system. http://goo.gl/WuPCwm
