Incredible journey: Check out the story of a missing cemetery headstone (that’s 245 years old) and its unbelievable return to Friedberg Moravian Church in northern Davidson County. News Blog and Facebook / wbfj http://goo.gl/5M1L8Z
For more than 60 years, the original gravestone of infant Johannes Walk had been missing from the cemetery at Friedberg Moravian Church with no clues to its whereabouts. A replacement marker sits in the cemetery, simply stating his name and year of birth and death: 1769.
But last Sunday, the missing 245-year-old marker returned home.
In December, a cleanup crew made a strange discovery in a neighborhood in Culpeper, Va. Near a tree sat an old gravestone. It bore the name of Johanes Walk — a line over the letter “n” on the gravestone signifying two n’s in the German name — and his dates of birth and death.
Forsyth Country Day School has begun using football helmet sensors to track the force of impacts on players. Each device sends a signal to trainers’ cell phones so that they can monitor the impacts and have players checked if the impact level is too high. The school received 11 of the devices through Progressive Insurance, and they are being used by players who have had concussions in the past or who play in positions with a lot of high impact.
