How do you get rid of those pesky fruit flies? (ASK SAM)
Gather two or more fruit juice glasses. Fill glass almost full with a mixture of water, apple cider vinegar, and sugar. Then drop one or two drops of (vegetable) oil onto the top of mixture. The oil should spread across the top of the vinegar and sugar. The fruit flies will be attracted to the vinegar and sugar…the oil will trap them. www.journalnow.com

Wal-Mart moving into Clemmons? Though Wal-Mart officials could not be reached for confirmation by the Winston-Salem Journal, applications for sign permits and a grading permit have been filed with the Forsyth County Inspections Office – necessary steps for any new business. The sign application specifically calls for signs that read “Walmart” to be placed at 3633 Clemmons Road, the site of the old Bi-Lo supermarket in the Clemmons Village Shopping Center.
Also, Wal-Mart recently announced plans to renovate the old Kroger store on University Parkway in Winston-Salem. http://www.journalnow.com/journal_west/news/walmart-appears-headed-to-clemmons/article_59eaf1d0-0699-11e4-970d-001a4bcf6878.html

UNC-Wilmington Seahawk statue is missing…
Police say someone ‘removed’ the famous bronze Seahawk statue from in front of the Warwick Center on the UNC-W campus…sometime Friday night or early Saturday morning. The statue also was taken in 2003, but, was found several days later in a stairwell of an apartment complex. No one was charged…
FYI: The university hired sculptor Joe Orlando to make the 3-foot, 75-pound statue in 1998…at a cost of around $37,000.

Looking for a NEW name? AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile founded ISIS – a mobile wallet service kinda like Pay Pal – back in 2010. The smartphone-based service ISIS will now be rebranded so there’s no confusion with ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, a terror group. There’s no word yet on what the new name will be. BTW: One of the world’s leading centers for physics and life sciences research is located in the U.K. also called Isis. No rebranding for this ISIS as of yet. http://money.cnn.com/2014/07/07/technology/isis-rebranding-iraq/?nbd=5_things
