Coffee gives that morning boost to millions. Coffee has also fueled a car to a new Guinness World Record in England. British conservationist Martin Bacon converted a Ford pickup truck into coffee-powered vehicle…which hit a top speed of 65 MPH at an Airfield in Manchester, England, on Feb. 19.   BTW: Martin’s coffee car is not the first vehicle powered by food.  In 2009, scientists from Warwick University
built a Formula 3 racing car with a biodiesel engine that ran on chocolate extract.  http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/03/18/coffee-powered-car-breaks-world-record/#ixzz2NyyerOuB

The Family Research Council has met with Josh Duggar, the eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar (19 Kids and Counting) about an executive position with FRC Action – the lobbying arm of the Family Research Council.  Josh, age 25, participated in ProLifeCon, the FRC’s annual pro-life social-media forum, back in January. Josh is married and a father of two (with one on the way). www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/sources-duggar-son-to-join-family-research-council FYI: FRC’s mission statement is to “advance faith, family and freedom in public policy and the culture from a Christian worldview…Families are formed only by ties of blood, marriage or adoption…and ‘marriage’ is a union of one man and one woman.”  www.frc.org

March Madness:  68 teams begin the BIG Dance – TONIGHT: NC A&T to face Liberty in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The ACC has 4 teams in brackets: Carolina, Duke, NC State and Miami.  Davidson College plays on Saturday…  Print out or Fill out NCAA brackets. www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/ncaa-tournament/brackets/viewable_men

Nearly one-third of workers will spend three or more hours watching hoops while at work. That’s $134 million dollars in lost wages in just the first two days of the NCAA tournament (annual report by outplacement firm, Challenger, Gray & Christmas).

March Madness usually means filling out those brackets for personal gain. How
about winning for charity during March Madness?
Michael McConville, a Duke University Freshman, has joined forces with fellow Cameron Crazies in the In-Cube entrepreneurship group, creating www.brackets4life.com/.  The process is simple: fill out a bracket on the website and make at least a $2 dollar donation.  The top five winners that participate in Brackets 4 Life will have the opportunity to split 50% of the charity pool for a charity of their choice. The other 50% of the proceeds will go to the CJ Foundation for SIDS. A cause that is very important to Michael his family: His 5-month-old brother Christopher died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (or SIDS) – back in 1996. www.brackets4life.com/

10 years later – Terrorists launched a relentless wave of deadly bombings on Tuesday to mark the tenth anniversary of the war in Iraq. The coordinated car bombings appear to be the work of al Qaeda in Iraq. www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2013/March/Deadly-Attacks-Mark-Tenth-Anniversary-of-Iraq-War-/

Colors can be deceiving when it comes to food labels? The ‘color’ of calorie labels on food packaging may lead us to believe that some food items are healthier than they actually are. According to a new study from Cornell University, most of us who are concerned about making ‘healthy’ choices tend to think a candy bar with a green calorie label is healthier than ones with red or white labels, even when the number of calories is the same.  http://consumer.healthday.com/Article.asp?AID=674357
