A Clean Sweep

Sometimes, I look around my house and feel completely overwhelmed. The sight of all of the cleaning, organizing an remodeling that needs to be done makes my head hurt. I wish I had a magic wand that I could just wave and “poof” everything would be put away, clean and in perfect shape. What a gift it would be to come home one day to find a sparkling, organized and re-decorated home!

Without Jesus, our spirits are a “hot mess”, much like my home most days. Sin clutters things up, wears things out and leaves it’s grimy fingerprints all over the place. The magnitude of it can leave us wondering how things got this bad and clueless about how to put things back in order. I am so glad that we are not on our own when it comes to righting the wrongs in our life.

We should find great relief and joy in these words from 2 Corinthians 20-21, “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Jesus did more than forgive our sin…he became our sin and put it to death! On the cross, he exchanged our messy, sin-filled spirits for clean ones! Now, if I could just find someone to do the same thing to my house…

I have three awesome kids – Andrew, Carley and Laura. My husband, Alton, is a delivery driver by day with dreams of one day publishing his own comic book. Yes, he is a geek, but I love him anyway.

I have been working at WBFJ since September 2004 when God threw me out of the boat I was riding in and set me on a new and wonderful course. I love co-hosting the morning show, although the lack of sleep does make me a bit loopy at times.
