Local companies turn office building into a temporary shelter for storm cleanup crews

Hotel rooms are in short supply this week in Greensboro because of the ACC basketball tournament.

Good Samaritans: DH Griffin Companies, Triad Commercial Properties and Blue Ridge Companies turn office building into a temporary shelter for storm cleanup crews. The temporary shelter can accommodate over 500 workers, along with catered food and hot showers.  BTW: Duke Energy has about 4,400 line technicians and tree cutters in North and South Carolina, many of whom come from 11 states, working 16-hour shifts. http://www.news-record.com/news/article_a7e5f0b6-a996-11e3-bdb4-001a4bcf6878.html

“If these men and women didn’t have a place to stay, it would limit how much work could be done,” David Griffin, president of D.H. Griffin said. “The Triad has been good to us and this is just another way to give back.”
