‘Super’ show of support: Local businessman to highlight WS Rescue Mission with Super Bowl ad

‘Super’ show of support:   Bob Young, owner of ‘109 You Pull It’ in Winston-Salem, will show his family’s appreciation for the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission by recognizing the organization during his upcoming Super Bowl ad this Sunday (FEB 02).    FYI: Bob Young’s son, Rob who recently passed away, was actually a resident of Alpha Acres last year, one of Winston-Salem Rescue Mission’s three recovery programs.  The Young family is grateful to the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission for ministering to Rob (the son) when he needed encouragement.

The Winston-Salem Rescue Mission is a Christian, non-denominational service ministry, meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of hurting people in the Triad to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and bring glory to God. It has been in operation for 47 years.  The Winston-Salem Rescue Mission operates three residential recovery programs, ranging in length from 90 days to 12 months. Through the Life Builders, Transformers, and Alpha Acres programs, WSRM is helping men find recovery through a relationship with Christ, and change from the inside out, providing them with the tools needed to become productive members of society.  In addition to residential services, WSRM also operates a 20,000 square foot Thrift Store at 715 N. Cherry St, as well as a dental clinic, medical clinic, food pantry and clothing ministry that are open to the public.

Super Bowl Sunday: Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos in Super Bowl #48 this Sunday.  Location: MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (NOT New York!!)           ** Kick-off Forecast:  Cloudy skies…High around 45

Against all odds: Just quit. You won’t make it. This isn’t for you. That’s what people told Seattle Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman to get him to stop playing football, because he is deaf. Luckily, he didn’t listen. Now, Derrick and his Seattle Seahawks are playing in Sunday’s Super Bowl. http://newday.blogs.cnn.com/2014/01/16/5-things-to-know-for-your-new-day-thursday-january-16/?hpt=hp_t2
