Congratulations to the Class of 2013: It’s a tradition here in North Carolina – at least two universities holding their graduation on Mother’s Day, UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University.

Once you or your graduate crosses the stage to claim their diplomas,  those student loan payments will soon come due. Four area hospitals have received an A grade when it comes to handling patient-safety issues.  The Leapfrog Group’s report, released last week, has Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center maintaining its A grade and Forsyth Medical Center rising to an A grade for the first time. BTW: The Leapfrog evaluation focuses on infections; medication mix-ups; acquired injuries, such as bedsores; hand hygiene;

Barbara Walters is retiring. The 83-year-old journalist has spent 37 years at ABC News.
