A ‘Voter ID’ bill is headed for the House floor in Raleigh. The voter bill will require voters in North Carolina to present one of 9 forms of state issued ID at the polls.  Anyone without an ID will be able to obtain a FREE non-operator card from their local DMV.  www.journalnow.com

How would you or your child like to graduate college in three years instead of four years?   “UNC-G in 3″ is a program geared toward highly motivated students that enroll in the university with previous college credit obtained during high school.  UNC-G administrators say that ”UNCG in 3″ students will save over $8,000 dollars a

Welcome Home: National Guard soldiers based out of Mocksville are returning home later today after being deployed in Southwest Asia for nearly a year. Fox 8 reporting that the soldiers spent the bulk of their time building housing and making improvements to buildings on US military bases.  

Something you don’t get to experience everyday.  A hot air balloon landed right in the middle of Glendale Oaks Court in Greensboro yesterday evening around 7pm. The pilot noticed he was having difficulty steering and decided to land the balloon safely in the neighborhood, but ended up in a front yard instead. Residents in the neighborhood say that the pilot wrapped the balloon back up and got everything back together, put the hot air balloon on the back of a truck and they took off. http://myfox8.com/2013/04/23/hot-air-balloon-makes-unexpected-landing-in-greensboro/

The Junior League of Winston-Salem has made a tough decision.  Next year will be their last Rummage Sale.  Dwindling attendance and rising costs to put on the event were just some of the factors in their decision.  BTW: The first Jr League Rummage Salem was held back in 1954.   www.journalnow.com
