Cloudy, breezy and cool for the start of Passion Week…

The US Supreme Court will hear oral arguments this week regarding the constitutionality of California’s Prop 8 (Hollingsworth vs. Perry) and DOMA (or Defense of Marriage ACT)  (Windsor vs. US)…and the future of traditional marriage – the union of one man and one woman – being the ‘legal’ definition of marriage.  Please pray for the lawyers who are defending traditional marriage, and the Justices on our Supreme Court to make the right decision. A decision from the Supreme Court will likely be handed down in June.  Two conservative groups will be taking buses from NC to Washington, DC on Tuesday morning for the March for
Marriage Rally.

When one road has two names, it can get confusing. The Greensboro city council is considering changing the names of High Point Road and Lee Street — to just ONE name. Fox 8 reporting that the council will discuss the name change during their meeting on Tuesday.  One proposal: Changing the eight mile stretch of High Point Road and Lee Street into one name…maybe “Gate City.” -Officials said
the city street and sign replacement would cost about $130,000.
-Nearly 450
businesses and properties would have to change their advertising
and business cards if a new address is voted in.
