A few area Schools were on a delay or even closed early this morning.   Mt Airy City, White Plains Christian, Patrick and Carroll County schools ended up CLOSING.  Surry County schools decided on a 3 hour delay.

Job Alert: United HealthCare making a BIG announcement today. The company will add around 500 new employees to its Greensboro office.  And another 100  employees at offices statewide. Oreo, Poland Spring…now Burger King?  Add Burger King to the growing list of major companies being ‘hacked’ through social media.  Someone hacked
into the Burger King Twitter yesterday, suggesting that the ‘home of the Whopper – had been bought out by McDonald’s.  No fast food merger and everything was clarified by Monday afternoon.  CNN  

Delivering his first State of the State address, Gov. Pat McCrory reiterated his administration’s focus on public education so that students are prepared for jobs, improving the state’s economy and making government more efficient.  McCrory also said that North Carolina will no longer take federal money without knowing how to pay it back.   www.journalnow.com

Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Community Church in California, telling reporters that any (Christian) organization that sees ‘evangelism’ as a priority should NOT take government money. Warren admits that he has refused millions of dollars from the Obama (and Bush) administrations offered in support of his ministry’s global relief efforts. Warren turned down the money because he won’t let aid restrictions stop him from telling people about Jesus Christ.  Warren also
pointed out that many foreign countries now reject federal aid from the US that’s

The Annual NCHE Homeschool Conference will take place May 23 – 25  at the Benton Convention Center in downtown Winston-Salem.  The final event of the
conference is senior graduation.

Trade in ‘food’ for a ‘movie’ fine?  The Forsyth County Public Library system is
holding its “Food For Fines” campaign during February.
  You can pay-off your outstanding ‘movie fine’ by donating non-perishable food items. The Library will in turn reduce your VHS/DVD ‘fine’ by a dollar for EACH food item donated.  All  donations will go to Second Harvest Food Bank.  www.hungernwnc.org
