Praying for the family of Josh Level, a high school basketball player from Greensboro, who died after collapsing during a game last night. Josh was a 17 year old junior at New Garden Friends School in Greensboro. GreensboroSports.com described Josh as “an outstanding” basketball player. The Winston-Salem Journal saying that counselors will be available to students and staff at the school today. www.journalnow.com

The state House health committee is considering a bill that would prohibit kids under 18 year old from legally using tanning beds. Currently, state law prohibits kids 13 and younger from using tanning beds while kids 14 to 17 only have to have a parent’s OK. www.journalnow.com

US Swimming officials are in the Triad this week – Greensboro is one of five cities in the running to host the 2016 US Olympic Swimming Trials. The Greensboro Aquatic Center could be the deciding factor in the city’s bid to host the events. If selected, crews will build a temporary pool in the Coliseum but athletes would use the GAC for practice. FOX 8

Look for Steven Curtis Chapman’s new CD project at Cracker Barrel. The 12-track collection, titled “Deep Roots”, features collaborations with Ricky Skaggs, as well as three generations of the Chapman family (Steven’s father, one of his sons and his daughter in law). The US is reportedly under attack (‘cyber attack’ that is). Cyber Cold War has clearly begun? According to a new report from a credible information security company, the Chinese government is linked to one of the most prolific hacking groups in the world. That group, known as the “Comment Crew,” has attacked Coca-Cola, military contractor Lockheed Martin and hundreds of others. BTW: Many businesses are taking a lackadaisical approach to cyber-security. Multiple industry studies have shown that the vast majority of companies don’t begin following cyber-security best practices until after they’ve been hit. Experts suggesting that a crippling attack by China on the nation’s power grid or other critical infrastructure…is also a legitimate worry.
