Wednesday Word – January 9

Happy 2013!!!  I know we have been in 2013, officially for one week now, but I haven’t had the opportunity to tell you.  2013, what does that mean to you?  Are you hopeful, waiting to see what the Lord will do?  Are you discouraged because 2012 did not end as you would like, so you expect no more out of 2013?  Maybe you find yourself somewhere in between.  I have great news, our God is for us, not against us.  He has a purpose and plan for each of us.  No matter what we see in the natural, we trust our God of the supernatural.  His mercies are new every morning.  So I will begin 2013, hopeful, expectant and joyful, how about you?

In 2013 I will joyfully celebrate our senior citizens, I hope you will join me.  Our Sweetheart Surprise promotion begins officially on January 21 (although boxes will be in the stores as early as the 19th).  We hope to fill these boxes to capacity with hand made Valentines made by you and all those you encourage to make Valentines.  We would like the Valentines turned in at the participating Lowes Food stores no later than February 10th.  We will then get the Valentines to our Meals on Wheels programs throughout the Triad, as well as other senior agencies and assisted living facilities, who will then give them out to the seniors.  What a wonderful opportunity to show love to our seniors, who are sometimes overlooked.

“Even to your old age I am He, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. (Isaiah 46:4)

Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life. (Proverbs 16:31)

I thank you, in the words of one of our seniors that sent a note, “thanks a lot for all my Valentines filled with so much love for someone you know only as an invisible friend.  But as one of you said, “God is love and so that means that I love you.  You went to a lot of trouble to make these cards and I for one have gotten a lot of pleasure out of them, not to mention lots of love…it’s a good warm feeling.”  Thank you Miss Margaret for letting us be a blessing to you and thank you for blessing us with your kind words.

I will be looking for valentines, handmade by you, filled with lots of love.

About Bonnie Hilton

Volunteer Coordinator

At WBFJ my job title states, "Volunteer Coordinator", but I'm so very blessed to have several other labels on a daily basis including: Wife, Mom, Daughter, Parking Attendant, class party planner, etc.. Yes, I'm a busy bee, but I love all the activity.

My two children keep me running from day to day. Aaron is 15 and Addy is 10 and both of them are so full of life and personality. My husband, Ron, and I have been married for 20 wonderful years, and God continues to show our family his goodness in so many ways. For 13 years I have called WBFJ home, and I don't anticipate changing residence any time soon.
