Big ‘Warm up’ for mid-week then cooler temperatures toward Friday.  (Updated forecast) Some clouds today…High 45.   A lot of area schools are on a delay this morning because of a Freezing Rain Advisory that was lifted just before 8am this morning.

Urgent prayer needed: Pray for Pastor Saeed Abidini and his family. Pastor Saeed, an American imprisoned in Iran for his faith, was sentenced to eight years in prison over the weekend. According to the American Center for Law and Justice, Pastor Saeed will serve his time in Evin Prison, known as one of the most brutal. The ACLJ has been working with the U.S. Government and at the United Nations to generate support for Pastor Saeed. Both the White House and the US State Department have condemned Iran and called for Saeed’s release.

Last night at the 19th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards: “Downton Abbey” (season 2) winning a SAG Award for “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series” BTW: If you can’t wait – “the latest installment “Downton Abbey” (Season 3) comes out on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday. You can catch “Downton Abbey” Sunday nights at 9pm on PBS. But, you may need to watch Seasons 1 and 2 to really know what’s going on…

Super Bowl Sunday is less than a week away. Have you upgraded your television, yet?? You will have lots of options. Here are some tips from Market Watch: -Plasma, LCD, LED, Smart TV, wi-fi, Web browser, 3D… -Expect to see a 10 to 15 percent drop in prices leading up to the Super Bowl. -TV shoppers are urged to look at the number of hertz. The higher it is, the better quality for fast movement. FYI: In 2010, $600 might have gotten you a 32-inch set. Today, that’s enough to get you a one as big as 50 inches depending on the brand.

What about the March for Life? Both ABC World News and CBS Evening News totally dismissing Friday’s “March for Life”, which was attended by hundreds of thousands of pro-life supporters in Washington, DC. (

 Time is running out to VOTE for one of the five finalists in Doritos’ annual “Crash the Super Bowl” commercial contest. The winner with the most votes will get their Doritos commercial shown during the Super Bowl this Sunday (FEB03). Voting deadline is this Tuesday night (JAN 29) at midnight:  BTW: “Fashionista Daddy” was directed by Mark Freiburger, a 29 year old filmmaker (and native of Charlotte), who graduated from the School of the Arts. -The team shot the commercial in Los Angeles with a budget of about $300. Everyone in front of and behind the camera were friends, but they had to rent dresses and buy Doritos. -Just for being chosen as a finalist, Freiburger and his team received $25,000 dollars and will be in a special skybox at the Super Bowl game with the other four commercial teams. “Fashionista Daddy” tells of a dad who is is persuaded to ditch a football game with his pals when his Doritos-packing daughter wants him to play “Princess Fashion Show.” **Super Bowl Sunday – February 3 – in New Orleans San Fran 49ers VS Baltimore Ravens

Everyone is still talking about the State / Carolina game on Saturday. NC State over the Tarheels…91-83. But, check this out… NC State coach Mark Gottfried and UNC coach Roy Williams along with voiceover work by Duke’s ‘Coach K’ have teamed up for the Coaches’ Charity Challenge and a pretty funny commercial.
