Why is Jerry Moore OUT at ASU? Jerry Moore said that he would love to have
had the opportunity to coach at Appalachian State one more season. But he won’t
be back at the helm of the Mountaineers’ football program after 24 seasons as
its coach. Charlie Cobb, ASU’s athletics director, said Sunday that he and
Moore sat down and that they came to the decision after the conclusion of the
2011 season that the 2012 season would be Moore’s final one at ASU. Moore
said that he didn’t agree that this past season would be his last season, and
that he had expressed his desire to coach another year. http://www.journalnow.com/sports/asu/app_trail/article_6dabdd9a-3eec-11e2-aec4-0019bb30f31a.html
