Sending a message.  The Pittsboro man who started a petition asking that the State of North Carolina be allowed to secede from the United States, doesn’t expect anything to come of the petition.  , saying that he is a “realist.”  Several days ago, Randy Dye, a Tea Party activist posted the petition on the White House website “We The People” for North Carolina to secede from the Union.  As of late Tuesday, the NC petition has more than 20,000 signatures.  Over 30 states have petitions circulating. BTW: The petitions began to appear on the website after President Obama was re-elected last week. The petition asks the President to peacefully grant the State of North Carolina the right to withdraw from the United States and create its own NEW government. It quotes from the Declaration of Independence saying that it is the right of the people to alter or abolish the government when any form of government becomes destructive and institute a new government.   www.news-record.com/content/2012/11/14/article/north_carolina_secessionist_trying_to_send_a_message
