Sending a message. The Pittsboro man who started a petition asking that the State of North Carolina be allowed to secede from the United States, doesn’t expect anything to come of the petition. , saying that he is a “realist.” Several days ago, Randy Dye, a Tea Party activist posted the petition on the White House website “We The People” for North Carolina to secede from the Union. As of late Tuesday, the NC petition has more than 20,000 signatures. Over 30 states have petitions circulating.
