Breaking News: Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center will eliminate over 900 full-time positions by June of next year (2013). 76 jobs will be elimination
by the end of this week. According to the release, the layoffs are the result of a new strategic plan for the medical center that started in 2009. Nearly
50% of the eliminations “will be achieved through deletion of vacant, temporary
and contract labor positions, as well as normal attrition and retirements.”
